Struct rustc_mir_transform::inline::CostChecker
source · struct CostChecker<'b, 'tcx> {
tcx: TyCtxt<'tcx>,
param_env: ParamEnv<'tcx>,
cost: usize,
callee_body: &'b Body<'tcx>,
instance: Instance<'tcx>,
validation: Result<(), &'static str>,
}
Expand description
Verify that the callee body is compatible with the caller.
This visitor mostly computes the inlining cost, but also needs to verify that types match because of normalization failure.
Fields
tcx: TyCtxt<'tcx>
param_env: ParamEnv<'tcx>
cost: usize
callee_body: &'b Body<'tcx>

sourcefn visit_local_decl(&mut self, local: Local, local_decl: &LocalDecl<'tcx>)
fn visit_local_decl(&mut self, local: Local, local_decl: &LocalDecl<'tcx>)
Count up the cost of local variables and temps, if we know the size use that, otherwise we use a moderately-large dummy cost.
sourcefn visit_projection_elem(
&mut self,
local: Local,
proj_base: &[PlaceElem<'tcx>],
elem: PlaceElem<'tcx>,

)
fn visit_projection_elem(
&mut self,
local: Local,
proj_base: &[PlaceElem<'tcx>],
elem: PlaceElem<'tcx>,
context: PlaceContext,
location: Location
)
This method duplicates code from MIR validation in an attempt to detect type mismatches due to normalization failure.

Layout
Note: Most layout information is completely unstable and may even differ between compilations. The only exception is types with certain repr(...)
attributes. Please see the Rust Reference’s “Type Layout” chapter for details on type layout guarantees.
